Is there a free version?
Dearest is designed with a free tier that has no time limit, plus optional paid features. A premium membership covers both linked partners. Full pricing and feature limits will be shown in the app when purchases become available.
Do we both need an iPhone?
Yes, for this release. Dearest is being prepared for iPhone, and each partner uses their own account. Android and a web version of the journal are not available.
Is it just for long-distance couples?
No. It’s for couples who want to keep a shared record, whether you live together or apart. You can each add your side of a memory in your own time.
Can we keep a copy of our journal?
Dearest includes options to export your journal as a data file or a PDF of your shared story. Physical book printing and shipping are not included in the app’s membership.
Is everything end-to-end encrypted?
No. Optional Sealed mode provides end-to-end encryption for letter content using a recovery phrase held on your devices. This is separate from choosing a future opening date and does not mean the entire journal is end-to-end encrypted. Read more about privacy.
